Hume Care Review 2026: Is HumeCare+ Legit? Inside the GLP-1 Weight Loss Program

If you are looking at HumeCare+ and wondering whether it is the real deal, or whether the weight you lose will actually be fat and not muscle, you are asking the right questions. HumeCare+ (also written Hume Care or Hume Care Plus) is a US telehealth program that pairs physician-prescribed GLP-1 medication (compounded tirzepatide or semaglutide) with body composition tracking, so you can see fat coming off instead of guessing from a number on the scale. A licensed clinician reviews your free assessment before anything is prescribed. Below, we verified exactly what it costs, whether it is legit, and what its money-back guarantee really covers once you read the published Terms, not just the banner.

  • Money-back guarantee for first-time GLP-1 users who follow the protocol, with the conditions explained below
  • 3D body composition scans track lean mass, not just the number on the scale
  • Compounded tirzepatide with glycine, B12 and B6 built in, or compounded semaglutide
  • Free eligibility check, free next-day delivery, cancel online before renewal
  • Reported flat pricing at every dose, so the cost does not climb as your dose builds up

Is Hume Care legit and worth it? The short answer

Yes. Hume Care is a real US telehealth program, worth considering if you want a GLP-1 plan that tracks body composition, not just scale weight. Its money-back guarantee is genuine but conditional: the Terms describe a 90-day guarantee for first-time GLP-1 users who log every dose. Trackers list plans from $199 a month; the exact price comes after the free check.

Our verdict

Most GLP-1 telehealth companies sell the same thing: a prescription and an app. HumeCare+ competes on a different axis, which is measurement. Building 3D body composition scanning into the plan addresses the most legitimate criticism of GLP-1 weight loss, that a share of what you lose can be muscle, and a bathroom scale cannot tell you which is which. Adding glycine, B12 and B6 to the protocol follows the same logic, and the free eligibility check plus the automatic refund if a clinician finds you ineligible mean you risk nothing just to find out your number.

It is not a perfect score, and here is exactly why, so you can weigh it yourself: you cannot get an exact price before completing the assessment, and the headline guarantee is narrower in the Terms than on the banner. Both are common in telehealth, and both are things you can check before you pay, which is exactly what the sections below do for you. What softens them: the 90-day guarantee has a low bar, any measurable weight loss, for first-time GLP-1 users who meet its conditions.

What Is Hume Care Plus?

Short answer: HumeCare+ is a US telehealth weight management program, not a supplement and not a device you buy once. You complete an online assessment, a clinician reviews it, and if you are eligible, you are prescribed GLP-1 medication delivered to your door alongside body composition tracking and ongoing clinical support.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A supplement is something you buy and take. A telehealth program is a medical service you enroll in: there is a clinician between you and the medication, there is a subscription rather than a one-off purchase, and there is a process for adjusting the plan as your body changes. It also means the honest answer to "does it work" is not something a review page can give you, because eligibility, dose and response are individual.

HumeCare+ is built by Hume, the company behind the Hume Health app and the Hume Pod smart scale. The company describes itself as a physician-led weight loss protocol and reports being trusted by more than 20,000 Americans. On its own site it displays a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from over 21,000 customer reviews. That figure is published by the brand rather than independently audited, which is worth holding in mind, it is a signal of scale rather than proof of outcome.

If you have been reading Hume Care Plus reviews or HumeCare+ reviews, you have probably noticed they keep circling three questions: is it real, what does it cost, and what happens if it does not work. This page is organized around those three, in that order, and every claim about the Terms comes from the company's own published documents.

Eligibility is the first thing to settle, because everything else, price included, is decided after a clinician reviews your assessment.

Is Hume Care Legit? What We Could Verify

Short answer: yes, on every basic point we could check. Hume Care is a real, operating US telehealth program with published Terms, a named clinical structure, state-by-state coverage, and medication safety information for the drugs it prescribes. What we could not independently confirm is its results data and its rating, which the brand publishes itself.

Here is what is documented on the company's own pages:

  • Who does what. The Terms of Service say clinical decisions, including whether you are prescribed anything, are made by independent licensed physicians in a separate clinical network. Hume provides the platform, the app and the devices, and medications are filled by licensed compounding pharmacies.
  • Where it operates. The coverage page lists 46 states plus Washington, D.C. as available and four as unavailable: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. It was last updated April 20, 2026.
  • Safety information is published. A medication safety page covers both compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, including the boxed warning and who should not use them.
  • Compounding is disclosed. The Terms say plainly that compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, efficacy or manufacturing quality.
  • There is a support address and a cancellation route. Support runs through support@humecare.com, and cancellation is handled inside your account.

Two things cannot be checked from the outside. The "4.7 out of 5 from more than 21,000 reviews" figure and the 21.5% average weight loss are both published by the brand, and the pages we read do not name the compounding pharmacy. Neither is unusual for the category, and the pharmacy is a good question to put to the clinician before you start.

Make sure you are on the right site

The program's own site is humecare.com, and its Terms, account area and support address all sit on that domain. Other websites use the Hume Care name and put "official website" in their titles, and we could only confirm humecare.com as the program's own domain. Before you enter any health information, check the address bar, and start from a link you trust, such as the buttons on this page, which go to the company's site.

Being real is the first hurdle. Whether you qualify is the next one, and it is free to find out.

How Much Does Hume Care Cost?

Short answer: the Hume Care GLP-1 cost, according to two independent price trackers, starts at $199 a month for compounded semaglutide and $299 a month for compounded tirzepatide, flat at every dose. HumeCare+ itself does not publish a price before the eligibility assessment, so treat those as starting figures. It runs as a self-pay subscription, and the Terms add a consultation fee at enrollment and at each refill.

Here is where each number comes from, so you can see what is reported and what is official:

SourceWhat it shows
Two independent price trackers (checked August 2026)Compounded semaglutide from $199 a month and compounded tirzepatide with B12 and glycine from $299 a month, flat at every dose and billed monthly
HumeCare+ landing page (seen September 19, 2026)A "limited time offer" with an introductory price "from $7/Day", automatic refills and a note that you can cancel anytime
HumeCare+ Terms of ServiceOne flat membership fee for the platform, consultations and the medication if prescribed. A clinical consultation fee at enrollment and at each refill, amount not stated. Some doses or formulations may cost extra
HumeCare+ homepageNo price shown. Your plan and price appear after the assessment

How to read that: $7 a day works out to about $210 over a 30-day month, in the same range as the semaglutide figure, although the landing page does not say which medication or plan the offer applies to. The trackers describe the price as flat across doses, with no step-up as the dose rises. Two things can still move your total: the consultation fee in the Terms, and whichever promotion is running when you enroll. Prices and offers change, which is why the assessment, not this page, gives you the number that counts.

What else you can pin down before spending anything:

  • The eligibility check is free. You find out whether you are eligible without paying, and your price is presented as part of that process. If a clinician then decides you are not eligible for treatment, the Terms say the membership fee is refunded automatically within 10 business days.
  • It is a subscription, not a one-time purchase. Memberships renew automatically (monthly plans monthly, annual plans annually) and price changes apply from your next renewal period, so put the renewal date in your calendar.
  • What the membership covers. Per the Terms, one flat fee covers platform access, clinical consultations and the medication if you are prescribed one. Certain medications, doses or formulations may cost extra, and that is disclosed when the order is fulfilled.
  • The consultation fee. The Terms refer to a clinical consultation fee assessed at enrollment and at each refill, described as non-refundable and outside the guarantee. Ask for the exact amount before you pay.
  • The Hume Pod. One tracker lists the Hume Pod scale as included at no extra cost. The Terms say devices are included with certain plans or promotions and are otherwise sold separately, so confirm it for your plan.
  • How you can pay. It is a self-pay program and does not bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. One landing page shows an HSA/FSA label, so check with your plan administrator.
  • Delivery is included. Free next-day delivery is stated, so shipping is not a hidden line item.

If an exact quote before sharing any health information is a hard requirement for you, this is the point where HumeCare+ will frustrate you, and that is a fair reason to look elsewhere. If you are comfortable with the standard telehealth sequence of assess first, price second, the free assessment is how you get the actual number for your situation, and the guarantee in the next section is what puts a floor under the risk for first-time GLP-1 users.

The only way to get the real figure for your prescription, rather than a starting price from a tracker, is the assessment itself.

See Your Plan & Pricing

Pricing is shown after the free eligibility check. Cancel before renewal.

Is HumeCare+ a Cheap GLP-1 Program, or Just Average?

If you are trying to find the cheapest GLP-1 online, the monthly headline price is the wrong number to compare. What decides what you actually pay over a year is whether the price rises as your dose rises. HumeCare+ is reported as flat at every dose, which is the part worth checking against any program you put beside it.

Here is why that matters more than a $20 difference in the first month. GLP-1 treatment does not start at your final dose. You build up over roughly the first three months, which is the stretch described further down this page. Plenty of programs price by dose, so the same treatment that looked affordable in month one costs noticeably more by month four, exactly when you are least likely to want to switch providers.

The two independent trackers we looked at describe HumeCare+ pricing as flat across doses, billed monthly, at a reported $199 for compounded semaglutide and $299 for compounded tirzepatide with B12 and glycine. If those hold for your plan, your month-one price is also your month-twelve price.

The questions worth asking before you compare any two GLP-1 programs on price:

  • Does the price change when the dose goes up? This is the single biggest driver of what a year actually costs, and it is the thing headline prices hide.
  • Is the medication included, or billed separately? A low membership fee with the medication on top is not comparable to one flat fee.
  • Is there a consultation fee, and does it repeat? HumeCare+ has one at enrollment and at each refill, per its Terms, and the amount is not published, so ask for it.
  • Is shipping included? Free next-day delivery is stated here, which is one fewer line item.
  • Is a device included or extra? One tracker lists the Hume Pod as included; the Terms say it depends on the plan or promotion.
  • What happens if it does not work? A cheaper program with no guarantee can end up being the expensive one.

Put plainly: HumeCare+ is not positioned as the absolute cheapest GLP-1 option on the market, and this review is not going to claim it is. What the reported pricing structure does is make your cost predictable across the whole dose build-up, and it bundles the body composition tracking that most programs at any price do not include at all. If your priority is the lowest possible first-month number, compare widely. If your priority is knowing what the next twelve months cost, flat-at-any-dose is the feature to look for, and the free check is how you get your actual number.

Your real price is quoted during the free eligibility check, and that is also where you can ask what the consultation fee is before any money changes hands.

Is There an Oral GLP-1, and Does HumeCare+ Offer One?

Oral GLP-1 medication does exist, and some HumeCare+ landing pages advertise a "Physician Guided Oral GLP Protocol". What those pages do not say is which oral medication is involved, and HumeCare+'s own medication safety page describes its compounded semaglutide as a once-weekly injection. So treat the oral route as something to ask about in your assessment, not as a confirmed part of every plan.

This question comes up constantly, and for a very understandable reason: a lot of people who would otherwise try a GLP-1 stall at the needle. It is worth knowing that the barrier is smaller than it sounds. These are not the syringes people picture, and most programs are a weekly injection with a very short, fine needle into the stomach or thigh, not a daily procedure.

If the oral route is still what you want, here is how to get a straight answer rather than guessing from a landing page. The eligibility assessment is free and it ends with a licensed clinician who can tell you what is available for you specifically. Ask three things: whether an oral option is offered on your plan, what the medication is, and whether the price differs from the injection. That conversation costs nothing and it is the only place the answer is authoritative.

One thing worth being clear-eyed about: oral and injectable versions of these medications are not automatically interchangeable in strength or in how well they work, and which one suits you is a clinical decision rather than a preference you pick from a menu. If a clinician recommends the injection, that recommendation is about what is likely to work for you, not about what is convenient for them.

The assessment is where you find out which form you would actually be prescribed, and what it costs, before you commit to anything.

Hume Care Money-Back Guarantee: The 10% Promise vs the 90-Day Terms

No honest page can promise you a weight loss result. Response to GLP-1 medication varies with your starting point, your dose, your medical history and how consistently you follow the plan. So the useful question is not "will this work". It is "what do I risk to find out", and here HumeCare+ gives a more concrete answer than most of its competitors, as long as you read the fine print first.

Hume Care states its guarantee in more than one place, and the wording is not identical:

WhereWhat it says
Homepage banner"Lose 10% body weight or get your money back. We're confident that you'll lose at least 10% of your body weight in 6 months. If you don't, we'll refund you."
Landing pagesA "180 days Money Back Promise" badge
Terms of Service, Section 8AA "90-Day Weight Loss Results Guarantee": a refund of membership fees paid in your first 90 days if you meet every participation requirement and do not achieve any measurable weight loss

We could not find the 10%-in-six-months wording in the Terms. They list only two situations where a refund is available, the 90-day guarantee and an automatic refund if the clinician decides you are not eligible, and they state that all other fees are non-refundable. The banner may simply be marketing shorthand, but the Terms are the document you accept when you enroll, so they are the version to plan around. Before you pay, email support@humecare.com to ask which guarantee applies to your plan, and keep a screenshot of the offer you signed up under.

Who qualifies for the 90-day guarantee

Per Section 8A of the Terms, the 90 days count from your first medication shipment. To qualify:

  • You are a first-time GLP-1 user. Any earlier GLP-1 medication, compounded or brand-name, disqualifies you.
  • You are approved for treatment and stay medically eligible, as decided by the clinicians.
  • You take and log every dose in the app, with no missed dose entries during the 90 days.
  • You complete all 13 weekly weigh-ins on a Hume Pod smart scale, logged in the app.
  • You follow the clinical recommendations in your care plan and stay an active, paying member for the full 90 days.
  • You claim on time. Email support@humecare.com within 14 days after the 90 days end, with a statement that you met the requirements. Refunds are paid within 10 business days of verification, which can take up to two weeks.

The refund covers membership fees paid during that period. It does not cover the consultation fee.

Why it is still worth knowing about

  • The bar is low. The Terms ask for any measurable weight loss over 90 days, not 10%. For a first-time user who follows the plan, that is a realistic safety net.
  • Measurement is built in. Weekly Hume Pod weigh-ins and dose logs mean there is a record on both sides, so nobody is arguing about numbers at the end.
  • There is an earlier safety net too. If the clinician determines you are not eligible for treatment, the Terms say the membership fee is refunded automatically within 10 business days.
  • Where it will not help: if you have used a GLP-1 before, miss a logged dose, or cancel before day 90, the guarantee does not apply. It is also a commercial commitment from Hume and creates no obligation for the clinicians.

That is the asymmetry. If you are a first-time GLP-1 user and you are willing to log every dose and weigh-in, the Terms put a floor under your risk. If you are not, treat it as a normal subscription and decide on that basis.

If the guarantee is what makes this feel safe enough to try, the full terms are shown during enrollment, which starts with the free eligibility check.

What Makes HumeCare+ Different From a Standard GLP-1 Program

According to the company, the medication is only one part of the protocol. Three things separate it from a plain prescription service.

Tirzepatide with glycine, B12 and B6 built into the protocol

The company's own wording is direct: glycine, B12 and B6 "protect muscle and ease side effects, built in". Rather than leaving you to work out your own supporting nutrition, those are compounded alongside the tirzepatide as part of the plan.

This is the provider's stated formulation rationale, not an independently published trial result, so treat it as a design choice by HumeCare+ rather than a proven claim. If the reasoning matters to you, the clinician review is the right place to ask what exactly is included in your prescription and why.

3D body composition scanning, not just weight

The program includes a 3D body scan that tracks fat and lean mass separately, which is the difference between knowing you lost eight pounds and knowing what those eight pounds were made of. The company's line for it is "we track lean mass, not just weight".

One detail to know before you enroll: the company's pages describe the scan as weekly in some places and as monthly body composition tracking in another. The Terms tie the guarantee to weekly weigh-ins on the Hume Pod, so plan on weekly. Hume Health describes the Pod as a smart scale that separates fat, muscle and water in a scan of about 60 seconds.

Ongoing clinical support, including after the medication

The plan includes app-based tracking, side effect support at any time, continuous physician optimization as your body changes, and post-medication guidance. That last item is the one most worth noticing, and the section on stopping treatment below explains why.

Do You Lose Muscle on a GLP-1, and Can You Prevent It?

Short answer: some of the weight lost during rapid weight loss is lean mass rather than fat. It is the most legitimate criticism of GLP-1 treatment, and the practical levers against it are protein intake, resistance training, and measuring body composition so you can actually see what you are losing.

This is the question the whole HumeCare+ pitch is built around, so it deserves a straight explanation rather than a marketing paragraph.

When you lose weight quickly through any method, whether that is surgery, a very low calorie diet or a GLP-1 medication, the body does not exclusively burn fat. Some lean tissue goes too. That matters beyond appearance: muscle is where you burn a large share of your daily energy, it is what keeps you strong and stable as you age, and losing a lot of it makes weight regain easier later.

A bathroom scale is blind to all of this. It shows one number falling and gives you no way to tell whether the fall is the outcome you wanted or the one you did not. That blindness is exactly the gap a body composition scan fills, and it is why "we track lean mass, not just weight" is the most substantive thing HumeCare+ says about itself.

What the evidence broadly supports for protecting lean mass during weight loss is not exotic: eat enough protein, do resistance training, and lose weight at a pace your body can handle. A program that measures composition lets you find out whether those things are working for you, month by month, instead of guessing and hoping.

We go through the research in detail, including how much lean mass the trials actually report and what a 2026 meta-analysis found about training, in our guide on how to keep muscle on a GLP-1.

If the muscle question is what has been holding you back from trying a GLP-1 at all, a program that measures it is the version of this worth starting with.

Check Your Eligibility

Body composition tracking is part of the program. The Hume Pod device is included with some plans.

How It Works: The Three Steps

Step 1

Complete the free online assessment, about a minute, to check basic eligibility.

Step 2

If eligible, a licensed clinician builds your protocol, medication plus the supporting plan, based on your history. If they decide you are not eligible, the membership fee is refunded.

Step 3

Medication is delivered free next-day, and you track progress in the app with ongoing clinician support.

How Long Does HumeCare+ Take to Work?

Short answer: HumeCare+ describes losing 5 to 10% of body weight in the first three months, and says it can take eight to nine weeks to feel the medication's full effects while the dose is gradually increased. Individual experiences vary and this is not a guarantee of your results.

Months 0 to 3: dose building

The dose is increased gradually as your body adjusts. The company describes 5 to 10% body weight loss in this window, and is explicit that it can take eight to nine weeks to feel the full effect. If you are two or three weeks in and underwhelmed, that is the expected shape of this stage, not a sign it has failed. It is also the stretch the 90-day guarantee in the Terms covers, so this is when logging every dose and weigh-in matters most.

Months 3 to 6: the stable stretch, and the checkpoint

Most people settle into a steady ongoing dose here, which the company associates with more consistent progress. The 90-day guarantee window has closed by now (claims are due within 14 days after day 90), so this is the period to judge progress by your body composition trend rather than only the scale, and to decide whether the plan is working for you.

Months 6 to 12 and beyond: keeping it

The stated focus shifts toward habits that hold the result, supported by post-medication guidance. The research below explains why this stage deserves as much attention as the first one, and our guide on what happens when you stop a GLP-1 covers the withdrawal trial data in full.

What the Research Says About GLP-1 Weight Loss

Tirzepatide and semaglutide are different molecules, but they belong to the same broad class of weight loss medication, and semaglutide has the largest body of published independent trial data in that class. That makes it useful background for how these medications behave in general. In the STEP 1 trial, a large randomised, placebo-controlled study, adults taking once-weekly semaglutide alongside lifestyle changes lost significantly more weight than those on placebo over 68 weeks.

What is less often advertised: weight tends to come back after stopping. In the STEP 1 trial extension, participants who discontinued semaglutide regained about two-thirds of their prior weight loss within a year, along with related changes in cardiometabolic markers. Tirzepatide trials have shown a similar pattern of regain after stopping. This is a big part of why the post-medication side of a program, and not just the prescription itself, is worth weighing when you compare providers. HumeCare+ lists post-medication guidance as an included part of its plan, which is a relevant point of comparison against services that end support when the prescription does.

Weight regain and cardiometabolic effects after withdrawal of semaglutide: The STEP 1 trial extension. Diabetes Obes Metab. 2022;24(8):1553-1564.

HumeCare+ also publishes its own internal analysis, an average 21.5% body weight loss over 10 months across 6,846 members. That is company data rather than an independently published or peer-reviewed study, worth weighing accordingly against the external research above.

Is HumeCare+ Compounded Tirzepatide or Compounded Semaglutide?

Short answer: both. HumeCare+'s own product photography shows two different medications in its branded packaging: a vial of compounded tirzepatide with glycine, B12 and B6, and a vial of compounded semaglutide. Its app screenshots additionally show Zepbound, a branded tirzepatide product. So this is not a single-drug service, and which medication you are prescribed is decided during the clinical assessment, not chosen from a menu beforehand.

This is worth spelling out because third-party write-ups of HumeCare+ contradict each other on exactly this point, some describing it as a tirzepatide service and others as a semaglutide service. Having gone through the company's own images, our reading is that both were right and both were incomplete. The company's medication safety page publishes safety information for both compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, which settles whether both exist.

A vial of compounded semaglutide in HumeCare+ packaging. The company's other product images show compounded tirzepatide with glycine, B12 and B6 in the same branded box. Images: HumeCare+.

The practical difference between the two: tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Mounjaro and Zepbound and acts on two receptors, while semaglutide is the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy and acts on one. Both are established weight management medications with substantial trial evidence. Neither is "the good one", and which suits you is a clinical judgment based on your history, tolerance and response.

Compounded tirzepatide vs Zepbound and Mounjaro: what actually differs

Since the app screenshots show Zepbound alongside the compounded vials, this comparison is worth having clearly in mind before your assessment.

Tirzepatide with B12 and glycine: what that combination is for

Plain tirzepatide is the molecule on its own. The version in this protocol adds glycine, B12 and B6, and the company's stated reason is that they "protect muscle and ease side effects". That is a formulation choice by the provider rather than an independently published trial result, so it is the provider's rationale you are weighing, not established evidence.

Questions worth asking during the assessment, which will get you a better answer than any article can:

  • Will I be prescribed tirzepatide or semaglutide, and why that one for me?
  • Is it a compounded preparation or a branded product, and how does the dose escalate?
  • If compounded, which pharmacy prepares it, and what is their licensing?
  • Exactly what is included alongside the medication in my prescription?
  • What happens to my plan, and the support, when I stop the medication?

If the compounded side of this category is new to you, we cover the regulatory picture separately in our guide to whether compounded tirzepatide is legal and safe, which explains what changed with the FDA and what to check about any provider offering it.

HumeCare+ vs Hume Health: Body Pod, Hume Band and the GLP-1 Program

Short answer: Hume Health is the company behind the Hume Pod (often searched as the Hume Body Pod), the Hume Band and the Hume app. HumeCare+ is the GLP-1 weight loss program built on that technology. They are related, but the devices and the program are bought and supported separately.

That is why searches for Hume Care turn up a mix of things: the GLP-1 program, the Hume Pod scale, the Hume Band, and their warranty and app pages. If you are here for the program, the Hume Pod is the part that matters, because the Terms use weekly Hume Pod weigh-ins to verify the guarantee. The Terms say devices may be included with certain membership plans or promotions at no additional cost, or can be bought separately, so ask at enrollment whether a Pod ships with your plan.

Device orders, returns and warranty questions are handled under Hume Health's device terms, not the HumeCare+ program Terms. Program questions, including billing and cancellation, go to support@humecare.com.

HumeCare+ Pros and Cons

What works in its favor

  • A money-back guarantee with a low bar (any measurable weight loss over 90 days) for first-time GLP-1 users who follow the protocol, plus an automatic refund if the clinician finds you ineligible
  • Body composition tracking built into the program, which addresses the muscle loss concern head-on instead of ignoring it
  • Glycine, B12 and B6 compounded with the tirzepatide rather than left to you to figure out
  • Support continues after the medication stops, which is where a lot of programs quietly end
  • Free eligibility check, free next-day delivery, and cancellation handled online inside your account
  • Clinician review by licensed physicians before anything is prescribed, which is the correct process for this class of medication
  • Published Terms, a state coverage list and medication safety pages, so most of the fine print can be read before you commit

What to weigh up

  • No official price before the assessment. Trackers list starting figures of $199 a month (semaglutide) and $299 a month (tirzepatide), and the Terms add a consultation fee, so the exact quote comes only after intake
  • The 10%-in-six-months banner is narrower in the Terms: a 90-day guarantee, first-time GLP-1 users only, with every dose and weigh-in logged
  • A consultation fee applies at enrollment and at each refill, and it sits outside the guarantee
  • The homepage says "GLP-1 medication" without naming the molecule. The medications are named on its medication safety page, so confirm exactly what you are prescribed
  • Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved products in themselves, which is a distinction worth understanding before you enroll
  • Scan frequency is worded differently across the company's pages, though the Terms tie the guarantee to weekly weigh-ins
  • The headline rating and member results are brand-published, not independently audited
  • It is an ongoing subscription that renews automatically, so it needs to fit a monthly budget and you need to cancel at least 48 hours before renewal
  • US only, and not available in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana or Mississippi

Who Is HumeCare+ a Good Fit For?

Worth exploring if you

  • Are specifically worried about losing muscle, and want that measured rather than assumed
  • Have already discussed weight loss options with a doctor, or are ready to as part of this process
  • Want ongoing tracking and clinician access instead of a one-time prescription and silence
  • Care about what happens after the medication stops, not just while you are on it
  • Are new to GLP-1 medication and want a guarantee tied to your own logged results

Worth pausing on if you

  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers, a standard exclusion for this medication class, confirm with a clinician
  • Need an exact price quote before sharing any health information
  • Haven't budgeted for an ongoing monthly subscription
  • Have taken a GLP-1 before, since the 90-day guarantee is for first-time users
  • Are looking for a guaranteed outcome rather than a medically supervised process
  • Live outside the United States, or in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana or Mississippi, where the service is not available

How we reviewed HumeCare+

This is a research-based review, not a first-hand account. Nobody on the Wellness Scout team enrolled in the program or was prescribed medication through it, and we would not present a personal weight loss story we did not have.

What we did do: read HumeCare+'s own materials directly and quote the company's wording where the claim is theirs, including the Terms of Service, the medication safety pages and the state coverage page, all retrieved on September 19, 2026. We also checked the two clinical trial citations on this page in their published sources rather than repeating them second-hand, compared the program's structure against how GLP-1 telehealth providers typically operate, and noted where the company's own pages differ from each other, such as the guarantee wording, rather than smoothing it over.

Where we could not verify something, we say so instead of filling the gap, which is why every price on this page is attributed to the source that published it, and why the pharmacy, results data and ratings are labeled as unverified. This page is not medical advice, and no part of it is a substitute for the clinical assessment that decides whether this medication is appropriate for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hume Care the same thing as HumeCare+?

Yes. The company writes the brand as HumeCare+ in most places and as Hume Care in others, and people also search for it as Hume Care Plus or HumeCare. They all refer to the same US telehealth weight management program at humecare.com, so you are not looking at two competing companies. It is separate from the Hume Pod and Hume Band devices, which come from the same parent company but are sold and supported separately.

Is Hume Care legit?

Yes, on every basic point we could check. It is a real, operating US telehealth program with published Terms, licensed physicians making the prescribing decisions, state-by-state coverage, and medication safety information for the drugs it prescribes. Its 4.7 out of 5 rating from more than 21,000 reviews and its 20,000-member figure are brand-published rather than independently audited. As with any telehealth provider, expect a medical service with a clinical process, not a guaranteed outcome.

How much does Hume Care cost?

Two independent price trackers put the Hume Care GLP-1 cost at $199 a month for compounded semaglutide and $299 a month for compounded tirzepatide, flat at every dose and billed monthly, as checked in August 2026. HumeCare+ itself does not publish a price before the eligibility assessment, and one of its landing pages advertises a limited-time introductory offer from $7 a day. It is a self-pay subscription that renews automatically, and the Terms mention a consultation fee at enrollment and at each refill, so treat the tracker figures as starting prices and get the full amount before you pay.

What is the Hume Care money-back guarantee?

The homepage promises a refund if you do not lose at least 10% of your body weight in six months. The Terms of Service (Section 8A) describe a narrower 90-Day Weight Loss Results Guarantee: a refund of membership fees paid in your first 90 days if you meet every participation requirement and do not achieve any measurable weight loss. It is for first-time GLP-1 users only. Ask support which version applies to your plan before you pay.

How do you claim a Hume Care refund?

For the 90-day guarantee, email support@humecare.com within 14 days after the 90 days end, with your account details and a written statement that you met the requirements. Hume checks the claim against your dose logs and weigh-ins, which can take up to two weeks, and pays within 10 business days of verification. The consultation fee is not refunded. If a clinician decides you are not eligible for treatment, the Terms say the membership fee is refunded automatically within 10 business days.

Which states is Hume Care available in?

Per the coverage page, last updated April 20, 2026, HumeCare+ is available in 46 states plus Washington, D.C. It is not available in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana or Mississippi. You must be 18 or older and live in a covered state, and coverage can change, so confirm it in the assessment.

Is HumeCare+ available in the UK or outside the United States?

No. The Terms say the services are available only in the United States, and only in states where the clinical network has licensed physician coverage. If you are outside the US, HumeCare+ is not an option, although the Hume Pod and other Hume Health devices are sold separately under their own terms.

Who prescribes the medication at Hume Care?

Licensed physicians in an independent clinical network review your assessment and decide whether to prescribe. Hume provides the platform, the app and the devices. The Terms say prescriptions are filled by licensed compounding pharmacies, and the pages we read do not name the pharmacy, so ask which one fills yours.

What is the difference between Hume Care and Hume Health?

Hume Health makes the Hume Pod smart scale (often searched as the Hume Body Pod), the Hume Band and the Hume app. HumeCare+ is the GLP-1 weight loss program built on that technology. Device orders, returns and warranty go through Hume Health's device terms. Program questions, billing and cancellation go through support@humecare.com. The Hume Pod matters for the program because the guarantee uses weekly Hume Pod weigh-ins.

Does Hume Care take insurance, HSA or FSA?

HumeCare+ is a self-pay program. The Terms say Hume is not enrolled with Medicare, Medicaid or any insurance program, and compounded medications are excluded from insurance billing. One landing page shows an HSA/FSA Accepted label, so check with your plan administrator whether a program like this qualifies before you rely on it.

Is HumeCare+ compounded tirzepatide or semaglutide?

Both, depending on what you are prescribed. HumeCare+'s own product photography shows compounded tirzepatide with glycine, B12 and B6 in its branded packaging, and also a vial of compounded semaglutide in the same packaging. App screenshots additionally show Zepbound, a branded tirzepatide product, and the company's medication safety page publishes information for both compounded drugs. Which one you receive is a clinical decision made during your assessment rather than something you pick beforehand, so ask the clinician directly which molecule they are prescribing and whether it is compounded or branded.

Does Hume Care offer oral GLP-1 pills?

Some landing pages advertise a Physician Guided Oral GLP Protocol, but the pages we read do not say which oral medication is involved, and the medication safety page describes compounded semaglutide as a once-weekly injection. Which form you are offered is a clinical decision, so ask the clinician directly.

Is HumeCare+ the same as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound?

HumeCare+ is a telehealth program rather than a medication brand, but it is closely related to all four. Its product images show compounded tirzepatide, the same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound, and compounded semaglutide, the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy. Its app screenshots also show Zepbound itself. The key difference from the brand-name products is that a compounded preparation is made by a compounding pharmacy and is not an FDA-approved product in itself.

Why does HumeCare+ add glycine, B12 and B6?

The company states that glycine, B12 and B6 are built into the protocol to protect muscle and ease side effects, which is why the medication is described as tirzepatide with B12 and glycine rather than tirzepatide on its own. That is the provider's stated formulation rationale rather than an independently published trial result, so if the reasoning matters to you, ask the clinician to explain it during the assessment and to confirm exactly what is included in your prescription.

Do you lose muscle on a GLP-1, and can you prevent it?

Some of the weight lost during rapid weight loss is lean mass rather than fat, and this is a documented and widely discussed concern with GLP-1 treatment. The practical levers are eating enough protein, resistance training, and measuring body composition rather than scale weight, so you can see whether what you are losing is fat. Tracking body composition is the specific gap that HumeCare+ built its program around.

How often does HumeCare+ do the body composition scan?

The company's pages describe a weekly body scan in some places and monthly body composition tracking in another. The Terms tie the guarantee to weekly weigh-ins on the Hume Pod smart scale, so plan on weekly, and confirm the routine for your plan during enrollment.

How long does HumeCare+ take to work?

HumeCare+ describes losing 5 to 10% of body weight in the first three months, and states it can take eight to nine weeks to feel the full effects of the medication as the dose is gradually increased. The 90-day guarantee period in the Terms covers that same build-up stretch, so logging every dose and weigh-in matters most early on. Results vary and are not guaranteed.

What are the side effects of GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medications commonly cause nausea, digestive discomfort and fatigue, particularly when starting a course or increasing a dose. HumeCare+ states its protocol is designed to ease side effects through dose calibration and added nutrients, and that side effect support is available at any time. Side effects are a real consideration with any GLP-1 treatment and are worth discussing directly with the prescribing clinician.

Do I need a doctor's visit to start?

No in-person visit. HumeCare+ operates as a telehealth service: eligibility starts with a free online questionnaire that takes about a minute, and a licensed clinician reviews it before anything is prescribed, which is standard for this category of provider.

Will I regain weight after stopping GLP-1 medication?

This is a real and well-documented concern. In the STEP 1 trial extension, participants who stopped semaglutide regained about two-thirds of their prior weight loss within a year. It is part of why the post-medication side of a program matters, and HumeCare+ lists post-medication guidance as an included part of its plan rather than ending support when the prescription does.

Can you cancel HumeCare+?

Yes. Per the Terms you can cancel online in your account (Account tab, then Subscription) or by emailing support@humecare.com, and the request must be completed at least 48 hours before your next renewal date to avoid the next charge. Memberships renew automatically, and there are no pro-rated refunds for a partly used period. Cancelling before day 90 also voids the 90-day guarantee, so cancelling and claiming a refund are different things.

Is HumeCare+ worth it?

It is worth considering if you want a GLP-1 program that measures body composition rather than scale weight alone, and if you are a first-time GLP-1 user who wants a guarantee tied to your own logged results. It is worth pausing on if you need a published price before sharing health information, have used a GLP-1 before, or want a guaranteed result rather than a medically supervised process.

What is the cheapest GLP-1 program online?

There is no single answer that stays true for long, because advertised entry prices change constantly and most of them are not comparable. The number that decides what you actually pay is whether the price rises as your dose rises: GLP-1 treatment builds up over roughly three months, so a program that prices by dose costs more by month four. HumeCare+ is reported by two independent trackers as flat at every dose, at $199 a month for compounded semaglutide and $299 for compounded tirzepatide with B12 and glycine. Check whether the medication, shipping and consultations are included before comparing any two programs on the headline figure.

Does the HumeCare+ price go up as your dose increases?

According to the two independent price trackers we looked at, no: the reported pricing is flat across doses and billed monthly, so the dose build-up over your first three months should not change what you pay. HumeCare+ does not publish a price before the eligibility assessment, so confirm it for your own plan during the free check, and ask about the clinical consultation fee that the Terms assess at enrollment and at each refill.

Can you get compounded tirzepatide prescribed online?

Yes, through a telehealth program where a licensed clinician reviews your assessment and prescribes if you are eligible, which is how HumeCare+ works. The medication is dispensed by a compounding pharmacy rather than being the branded product, so it is not the same thing as Mounjaro or Zepbound even where the active ingredient matches. Eligibility is a clinical decision, and the assessment is free to complete.

Is HumeCare+ an injection or a pill?

HumeCare+'s medication safety page describes its compounded semaglutide as a once-weekly injection. Some of its landing pages advertise a “Physician Guided Oral GLP Protocol” without naming the oral medication involved, so if the oral route matters to you, ask the clinician during the free assessment which form is available on your plan and whether the price differs.

See if you're eligible

You have now read the real guarantee, the real cost breakdown, and what the program actually tracks beyond the scale. The only thing left is finding out whether you qualify, and that takes about a minute and costs nothing. It is how HumeCare+ decides if the program fits you, and it is where you get your actual plan and price instead of a starting estimate.
